“ A team of developers is integrated at the moment when a programmer opens a project file and starts reading the code, and he isn’t able to deduce if that code has been programmed by him or by a teammate. This is the perfect team development point — we have become a single great programmer working together.”

Drivel. This is not a team, this is homogeneity, and it’s half of what’s wrong with the industry today. A team is not a group of identical men in grey overalls calling everyone “comrade”, it is a set of people with disparate skills all working towards a common end and achieving more in aggregate than they could as the same number of independent agents.

A football team does not pay millions for a new striker because he kicks the ball in the exact same way as the rest of the team. It pays because he DOESN’T.
