Funny, then, how they invaded a series of countries that weren't even candidates for NATO membership, but which they have been oppressing since about 1700, getting two more NATO members on their borders as a result. Funny how they picked on a series of countries that used to be part of their empire, countries that had not even suggested threatening or attacking them, violating their own commitments to their security.
