I'd like to see Ukraine also reaching into Russia to take out the Bears and other heavy bombers capable of launching stand-off weapons. Taking out the pilots is a good second-best, but it would be good for Russia to feel this war degrading its strategic bombing capability.

It's hard to say if such an effort could succeed, but the Ukrainians seem to be resourceful. Man-portable rocketry used from the ground might work. An outside possibility that I had been thinking about is a long-range drone carrying a couple of sidewinders. Where there's a will...
