Something very odd about the highlighting function these days, but it could have something to do with my Toucan extension. (Italian language learning, FYI.) I recently spent a weekend in Milano, and recommend it for a city trip. Cool city.

It's worrying to hear that revenues have been hit so hard. Something similar has been happening to microstock incomes in the few years I've been submitting my photos to the major stock agencies. I've been trying to get a distributed, photographer-driven version of agency sites up and running, but can't find the time at the moment to get it looking really professional.

I had been considering starting regular publications on Medium, but this gives me pause. Perhaps Substack would be an alternative. The trouble, as you say, is that doing a regular and professional article requires so much background work. I'm well-read these days, but a patchy scholar and I would need to do the extra work. For 50 dollars it just wouldn't be worth it.

I'm grateful to Medium for the writers I follow, however. You make me feel clever by osmosis.
